With three little ladies in the house we probably ought to expect Valentines Day (or any day for that matter) to be somewhat emotional. And today certainly was. But it didn't start out that way.
Heart pancakes for breakfast.Heart sandwiches for lunch.
Then a surprise visit from one of Lydia's boyfriends! He totally spoiled her when he showed up on our doorstep. Five packs of gum. A balloon covered in hearts. And the cutest little pink puppy. He certainly knows her well! And his mom told me it was all his idea! She couldn't stop grinning. Jon was thrilled, as you can imagine...
And then Sophie decided she was going to run away. She packed her bag, grabbed her blanket and her puppy and was on her way out the door when I interrupted her plans. Mostly it was just a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. But I'm quite sure Lydia's haul didn't help her mood any.
Dinner was heart calzones and they turned out pretty great! Always a gamble trying out a new recipe, but the girls were good sports and that concluded our day of heart shaped food.
Oh! And Mia found herself alone with the box of chocolates Grandma and Grandpa Frazier had given her on Sunday. Clearly she did what any normal person would do in that situation. And I don't blame her at all. She tasted every single one of them. That face tho....
While Dad was at work the girls wrote love notes to him and then heart attacked his bed. They also left rolos on his pillow. Because. RolosWhat a roller coaster of a day! Wouldn't change it for anything.
Oh Sophie! I feel your pain! Lydia, I'm so happy you got spoiled by a boy! Mia, we all know you actually won the day. And why wasn't I invited to your chocolate party??
ReplyDeleteBecca, those heart calzones look amazing! How did you make those?
Yes! Poor Soph! Valentine's day can be such an emotional ride! Hopefully next year will be better. And happy day for Lyds! Unexpected gifts from cute little boys is the best. Oh Mia Mia! I love that you know what the good stuff is! Also, I need your calzone recipe, Becc! Those look so good.
